This will usually be when we have full details of the estate. In other words, when we have seen a copy of the Will (if there is one) and we know the assets and liabilities in the estate, and who the beneficiaries are.\u00a0 We will agree the \u2018scope of works\u2019 we are to do for you, and then provide you with our best estimate of what we believe the overall costs will be.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, because this is a fee estimate, then the actual cost of the service will be governed by the actual time it has taken us to carry out the work.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12 col-md-6 col-lg-5 offset-lg-1 content-col\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"content-container animate-fade-in\" data-dsap>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Some Examples of our \u2018Time Spent\u2019 charges for dealing with the <u>full estate administration<\/u> \u2013 based on an average hourly rate of \u00a3300 plus VAT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A straightforward estate that is not taxable<\/strong> \u2013 in the region of 25 &#8211; 35 hours &#8211; \u00a37,500 to \u00a310,500 plus VAT and disbursements<\/li>\n<li><strong>A straightforward estate that is taxable<\/strong> &#8211; in the region of 40 &#8211; 60 hours &#8211; \u00a312,000 to \u00a318,000 plus VAT and disbursements<\/li>\n<li><strong>A more complex estate<\/strong> &#8211; in the region of 60 &#8211; 100 hours &#8211; \u00a318,000 to \u00a330,000 plus VAT and disbursements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block-content-media content-image wp-block-strategiq-content-media\">\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12 col-md-6 col-lg-5 content-col\">\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"heading\" data-dsap>OPTION 2 \u2013 FIXED FEE<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"content-container\" data-dsap>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We appreciate some clients prefer the certainty of a fixed fee. We therefore offer this as an alternative option, and our fee is largely based on the value of the estate. Again we would provide you with a \u2018scope of works\u2019 setting out what work is covered, and we would prefer that our Trust Corporation is appointed as an \u2018attorney\u2019 under this arrangement. These would ordinarily include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Probate Application Fee (if the estate is worth over \u00a35,000) &#8211; \u00a3300<\/li>\n<li>Court Sealed Copies of the Grant &#8211; \u00a316 per copy<\/li>\n<li>HM Land Registry Fees &#8211; \u00a37 for each copy title and \u00a37 for each copy plan, if required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Depending on the complexity of the estate and the nature of the assets, there may be additional third party costs which would be charged, for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional valuation fees associated with property and other assets eg shareholdings or valuable personal items<\/li>\n<li>Statutory advertisement fees<\/li>\n<li>Other professionals\u2019 fees, eg stockbroker, accountancy and conveyancing fees<\/li>\n<li>Inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax<\/li>\n<li>Insurance premiums<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block-content-two-cols wp-block-strategiq-content-two-cols has-background has-tertiary-light-gradient-background\">\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"row heading-row\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"heading\" data-dsap>Taxable Estates<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"row content-row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12 col-md-6 col-lg-5 intro-col\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"intro animate-fade-in large\" data-dsap>How long does it take?<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"content-container\" data-dsap>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This depends on a number of factors. Obtaining the Grant of Probate can take as little as one month from the point at which the application is submitted to the Probate Registry, but in other cases, it can take much longer and sometimes up to one year from the date the application is made. The Probate Registry is working hard to reduce delays, but it is not yet possible to provide any certainty on the timescales involved.<\/p>\n<p>The full administration of an estate (including time needed involved in obtaining the Grant) may be expected to take between 12-24 months. However, this depends on a wide range of factors including how complex the circumstances are and of course the third parties that we necessarily have to deal with.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What work would you be doing for me?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our expert team can assist you during every step. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>meeting with you as and when necessary &#8211; either through a video call or in person &#8211; to discuss the circumstances of the estate in detail<\/li>\n<li>notifying banks and other third party asset holders, of the death, as well as contacting estate beneficiaries<\/li>\n<li>advising you about the type of Grant you may need and the application to be made to the Probate Court<\/li>\n<li>where necessary, preparing and submitting the documents to HM Revenue &amp; Customs and advising you as to the amount of inheritance tax due, having taken into account all inheritance tax exemptions and allowances<\/li>\n<li>preparation of the application to the Probate Court<\/li>\n<li>monitoring the above applications, chasing where required, and handling any enquiries that may be received<\/li>\n<li>on receipt of the Grant, collecting in the assets of the estate, and cashing in or selling such assets as may be necessary to settle any estate debts and liabilities, and paying out any cash gifts to beneficiaries<\/li>\n<li>selling the remaining assets (eg property or investments) or transferring them (or the cash proceeds) to the estate beneficiaries<\/li>\n<li>ensuring any estate income tax and capital gains tax liabilities are correctly dealt with<\/li>\n<li>preparation of Estate Accounts for executor and beneficiary approval, and<\/li>\n<li>making interim and final distributions to beneficiaries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12 col-md-6 col-lg-5 offset-lg-1
