Accessibility and communication

We want our information and meetings to be as clear and accessible as possible. If you need us to communicate in a different way, please tell us. We will consider what we can reasonably do to help.

Support we may be able to offer

  • Large print documents.
  • Clearer layouts and written summaries.
  • More time to read, think or respond.
  • Shorter meetings, breaks during meetings, or meetings at a time that works better for you.
  • Phone, video or in-person meetings where available.
  • A trusted person joining meetings, with your permission.
  • Help if you have difficulty seeing, hearing, reading, remembering or concentrating.

How to ask for support

You can tell your adviser, call us, email us, or ask someone you trust to contact us. You only need to share the information that helps us understand what support would make a difference.

For example, you could say: “I find long documents difficult. Please can you send a short summary of the main points?” or “I need more time to read this before I decide.”

Information that may help us support you

You do not need to have everything ready before you contact us. These details can simply help us guide the conversation:

  • Your preferred way to be contacted.
  • Any communication support you need, such as large print, written summaries or extra time.
  • Whether you would like someone you trust to be involved.
  • Any deadlines, letters or forms you are worried about.
  • Anything you do not understand and would like us to explain again.
