Join the 2027 academy
Take the first step
Our program of learning is based on a 12-month pathway designed to fully prepare you for a career in financial planning. By the end of the program, you will have gained the qualifications, skills and competence necessary to enjoy a rewarding career at Progeny.
You will be a full-time employee from day one, and receive a competitive salary and benefits package, throughout your initial training and beyond. Progeny will also fully fund your training, study materials and exam fees.
As a chartered financial planner firm, we encourage all our planners to strive for excellence, and we will support you on your pathway to achieve chartered status.
Each year, our academy team offers a set number of Associate Financial Planner positions available for the next Academy cohort. Applications are welcomed both internally and externally. Full details along with the role descriptions are advertised on our Progeny careers page.

Prepare and submit your application
As part of the application process, we ask you to submit both a CV and a cover letter explaining why you want to become a financial planner, highlighting any relevant transferable skills. To submit your application, go to our careers page linked here. *Please note applications will only be reviewed once the application window is closed so do not worry if you don’t hear back from us right away.

Informal meeting
After our application window has closed, your CV and Cover Letter will be reviewed against our enrolment criteria and successful applicants will be invited to an informal, online interview lasting around 20-30 minutes.

Formal interview
Assuming you meet the enrolment criteria, your formal online interview will explore your application in more detail, covering your motivations for the career move and this is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about the role or the program.

Presentation preparation
You will be asked to prepare a presentation in readiness for the assessment day. The presentation will be based on you and what you can bring to the role of financial planner at Progeny, and full details will be provided at the time

Assessment Day
The assessment day is split into 3 parts. A competency-based interview, presentation and role play client scenario. They are designed to evaluate your communication style, interpersonal skills and natural aptitude for the role. Applicants will be provided with any materials needed on the day.
